We heard from the Toronto Film Festival and we were not accepted. Darn. Oh well, at least it means we retain our World Premiere Status for Sundance. In the next 60 days we'll be finalizing a finished cut of the film complete with new soundtrack, ADR and foley!

June 25, 2008

We just heard from Cinetic Media regarding our request for them to be the Producer Reps for Broken Hearts Club  - they declined. We haven't heard from Seventh Art Releasing yet. We sent them a screener two weeks ago.

Writer/Director/Producer/Editor Angelo Bell just completed editing a music video for David Redic of Inglewood, CA. David is an singer/songwriter with gospel roots. The song is entitled, "Season of Change" and depicts the climate of change our nation is in and references Barack Obama as being a catalyst for that change. This was the first music video edited my Angelo.

New edits are on the way for Broken Hearts Club. Director, Angelo Bell has decided to cut the existing rough cut footage from 115 minutes down to 95 minutes. The additional footage will be available as special features on the 'Director's Cut' DVD. Also, a new trailer is in progress. Filmmaker Tunde (toon-day) of Atlanta will be preparing another trailer in the upcoming months

Composer, Rob Gokee, who wrote the original score for Broken Hearts Club was hired to work on a feature film comedy by a filmmaker whose short Rob scored last year.

The official website of writer/director Angelo Bell is now online! Please visit www.AngeloBell.com for an update on what this amazing and creative director is working on now. Visit his website to see his blog or signup to "follow" him on www.Twitter.com with text message updates sent directly to your phone.

Also, Seventh Art Releasing has officially requested a screener of Broken Hearts Club. Additionally, we are working with another high-profile executive producer who interested in becoming an investor. More details as they come!

A rough cut of the film is complete. Thanks to the hard work of composer, Rob Gokee,  'Broken Hearts Club' was able to move from temp music to a rough cut with a complete score. Nothing is final, however, the producers believe that 80-90% of the score and the current cut of the film will remain intact. Previews of the new music are online at www.myspace.com/brokenheartsclubfilm.

With the new score we were able to submit to the Toronto International Film Festival. Wish us luck.

ps...reshoots and pickups are in progress

It's a wrap! Day 16 of 16 grueling 12-15 hour days, straight came to a head in Long Beach, CA when we wrapped production. We were shooting the "barbecue" scene, with honest to God, home-cooked barbecue and we called the martini shot around 4:30PM. On set that day was Nicole S., Nicole D., Todd, Cat, Bashir and of course, Dylan. We had 20 extras, 30 pounds of ribs, 20 pounds of hamburgers, 10 pounds of hotdogs, baked beans, homemade barbecue sauce and lots of fixins. Mr. Harkless managed the grill while Irby Catering catered the meal with homestyle flair.

In January we go back into production for pick-ups. There are three scenes that we have to shoot in a cafe, plus the garage scene and another scene in a park.

We're still trying to get together with Rick Lozano to deliver the hundreds of toys we have for Toys for Tots, but Rick has been super busy coordinating a celebrity golf tournament and other things.

Rick, just tell us where to go. We'll come to you!

Swag

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

See Swag (disambiguation) for other meanings.

In Australian historical terms, the term "swag" refers to a portable shelter that is rolled (usually with belongings inside) and carried on a person's back.

In popular culture, the term swag usually refers to Samples, Wearables and Gifts. These are promotional items or gifts that are given away by companies or organizations. It can also simply be used as a slang term for inexpensive gifts in general.

In Britain it can mean items acquired informally or actually stolen. In cartoons, burglars are traditionally depicted with their faces masked, with a hooped top and a large sack over their shoulder clearly marked "swag". It can also mean merchandise, official or unofficial, sold at pop concerts such as t-shirts

Backronyms of the word include "Some Worthless Advertising Gimmick", "Scientific Wild Ass Guess", "Stuff We All Get", "Stolen Without A Gun" (police report jargon), "Stuff We Ain't Got", "So What, Another Giveaway", and "Samples, Wearables, and Gifts".
