Made independently on a shoestring budget and adapted from the writer-director’s own short film from 2006, Broken Hearts Club is Angelo Bell’s indie masterpiece.

The story of Broken Hearts Club sees leading criminal psychiatrist Terrence Thiebold (Jones) given a brand new set of patients, only they’re not clinically insane, they’re clinically heartbroken. Terrence has to adapt to not only a new style of treatment, but a variety of different love-lost personalities who each have their own stories of separation and betrayal to tell, all while trying to overcome an emotional obstacle the scale of which he has never faced before.

BHC DVD Content

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

I have to start outlining and prepping ’special features’ content for the inevitable release of “Broken Hearts Club” on DVD. With the holiday season rapidly approaching I have an opportunity to reach a tremendous amount of people within the last few months of the year.

DVD

I’m deciding about what to include on the DVD.  I’m also deciding if I should include a two-disk DVD. Here are some other thoughts:

  • Since the film typically receives lots of comments about the casting so I think a featurette about how the film was cast might be a good thing to include. There’s quite a few stories to tell.
  • I’ve also been asked many times about the writing and dialog. I think this is tied to the performances and the casting.
  • A featurette about low-budget techniques employed in the film is most certainly required
  • Director’s Commentary??
  • Bloopers?? (I’m not sure if there are that many)
  • What do you think?

“Broken Hearts Club” as a web series

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

The Broken Hearts Club. There’s nothing like it in theaters or television, or even on the web. I’m wondering what YOU think about me launching BHC as a web series but cutting the feature film into episodes and then starting an all-new season with new patients.
