Broken Hearts Club (the short) – Free Movie Download

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

Broken Hearts Club is near and dear to me. I’ve been living it since 2006 when I competed the short film version. Now that the feature length film version is complete (it recently screened at the Hollywood Black Film Festival) I am happy to present to you the short film. Later Ihope to post some additional videos about how I came up with the idea for the film–it’s really a very interesting story.

In any event, the film is here now for you to watch in its entirety for free.  You may watch it online or download to watch later. Either way, I am honored that you’d spend 22 minutes with me. Feel free to share the file with friends and family (keeping in mind that due to language it’s not suitable for children under 13). So watch. Download. Share.  If you enjoy the film please consider making a donation.

The word is  pending on three film festivals. I’m patiently waiting for the word (hopefully good word) on the status of the film.

A rough cut of the film is complete. Thanks to the hard work of composer, Rob Gokee,  ‘Broken Hearts Club’ was able to move from temp music to a rough cut with a complete score. Nothing is final, however, the producers believe that 80-90% of the score and the current cut of the film will remain intact. Previews of the new music are online at www.myspace.com/brokenheartsclubfilm.

Journeyman actor and respected acting coach Michael Monks joins the cast of BHC.

After two rounds of auditions, callbacks, three private meetings and a lot of deliberating, the final ensemble cast is in place. Gwendolyn Edwards and Brooke Geiger have rounded out the remaining roles for the primary cast!

Production is set for December 1-16th of 2007.

August 2007

All of the cast members from the short film version of BHC are asked to audition and/or read with new actors. Several of the cast members are offered their previous roles or are given new roles within the film.

The following actors return: Sean Ross, Nicole Sessions, Andrew Elvis Miller, Alan Pietruszewski

The director, co-producer (Luan) and Casting Associate (Nicole) sort through well over 2000 submissions for 13 roles in BHC. Notices were placed on LA Breakdowns, Now Casting, Craig’s List etc.

After call backs, Tank Jones and Dylan Mooney deliver exponentially and join the cast of BHC! Auditioning actors, Bashir Avriel and Todd Thomas are brought in for strong supporting roles.

Kikey Castillo and Rebecca Lisi join the cast. In 2006 Kikey auditioned for El Ride. Rebecca was in the director’s film, The First Time, which was made for On The Lot.

Actors joining the production via a personal invitation by the director are Maya Delese Gilbert, Jeff Torres, Elena Campbell-Martinez, Nicole Dionne, Cat Fobi
